What happens in the first session?
Each treatment is unique to the individual. An in-depth consultation about your general health, medical history and life style, will help formulate personalised treatment.

Is Acupuncture painful?  I use very high quality and extremely fine needles. Please see the photo gallery for comparison. Everybody experiences acupuncture differently, you may feel sensations such as tingling or dull aches, generally people feel a sense of relaxation during treatment.

How safe is it? The acupuncture needles I use are high quality sterilised single-use needles which come in sealed packs. My practice complies with the British Acupuncture Council’s code of Safe Practice of hygienic use and safe disposal of Acupuncture needles.

What does it feel like? Most people find acupuncture treatment a calming and relaxing experience. At times they may feel a tingling, warm sensation or a dull ache.

How often will I need treatment? Each person’s situation is unique. In some cases, such as an acute problem, only a few sessions are needed, whereas some chronic conditions may need more time to improve. Other people may have regular preventative treatments to maintain or enhance their health and well being or to reduce their susceptibility to illness.

The frequency of treatment can be tailored to suit your circumstances.
